Our Early Career Network supports professionals at the start of their careers in the field of offshore renewable energy. By building an interconnected community, we aim to support the development of this rapidly evolving sector through knowledge exchange between peers and senior experts, as well as facilitating collaboration between research and industry.

Who Can Join?

We welcome everyone at an early stage of their career in offshore renewables.

  • Commercial roles (first 6 years in sector)
  • Post Doctoral Researcher Assistants (PDRAs)
  • Early career Academic Staff within the first three years of their academic appointment.
  • PhD Students within 12 months of completion

We welcome enquiries from anyone uncertain if the definitions as above apply to them. We'd be happy to help  - please email us.

Event Details

  • Format: Online sessions. To complement the in-person Forum held every Spring, this online format offers an alternative way to connect with peers and supports wider access.
  • Skills Workshop: An external trainer-led workshop - details to be announced soon.
  • Flexibility: We encourage participants to attend the full programme, but understand that schedules vary - you are welcome to join the sessions that you can.
  • Registration: Closes one week before the autumn forum - Friday 26 September.

     

Training Session - Projects & People -  with Resilient Leaders Consultancy

During the afternoon, we'll be joined by Chris Russell who is a Resilient Leaders Elements to give a 2-hour workshop: Projects & People - developing leadership practices to navigate the day-to-day and build for the future.  This practical workshop will help you develop yourself and others whilst managing a purposeful, productive project. Valuable skill strengthening with broad application across academic and commercial roles. All attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

About the Trainer - Chris Russell, Resilient Leaders Consultancy

Chris Russel draws on extensive experience supporting professionals in higher education institutions and industry worldwide, helping people improve their projects, foster their creativity, and make their research meaningful. With a background in science working across physics and medicine he values the innovation and leadership that emerge from both research and practice and seeks to inspire others to flourish as they shape the world. 

Through Resilient Leaders Consultancy, Chris develops and delivers training courses that are practical, purposeful and playful working across the UK and abroad. Still a scientist at heart he describes himself as a people-focussed physicist who loves analysis and building collaborative communities based on compassion, care and creativity.
