There was a real sense of enthusiasm and collaboration at yesterday's Early Career Forum, with plenty of support and discussion to help grow individual careers and a strong offshore renewable energy sector.
From studies exploring the effects of sediment on tidal turbine efficiency to the use of AI to improve everything from numerical modelling to marine life observations, we heard from some fantastic speakers across academic disciplines, industry professions and career stages.
The breadth of work underway reflects the many challenges facing an emerging sector, with bright and determined minds tackling key questions. Today's work uncovering solutions is building the strong foundations of an innovative and thriving sector of tomorrow.
In addition to novel research, we also heard from innovators who had started their own companies, openly sharing the early days of building something new. Their passion and excitement for their work was clear, as was their encouragement for others in the Network to follow their own interests and ambitions.
So often the case at a Supergen ORE Hub event, some of the best moments came from the discussions following the presentations! The passion and enthusiasm of everyone involved, along with a genuine interest in learning about each other's work, is particularly encouraging to see and a great reflection of the collaborative nature of this community.
