We are delighted to welcome two new appointments to the Early Career Committee. Following a year of valuable contributions as Engagement Officer, Dr Yabin Liu from the University of Cambridge will be stepping into the role of Deputy. We are also very pleased to welcome Daisy McDonnell, from Javelin, Reflex Marine, as our first Industry Representative, marking an exciting step forward in strengthening connections between academia and industry across our network.
We look forward to building on the momentum achieved so far, to continue to grow and strengthen our community. We hope to see many familiar faces, as well as new ones, at our next in-person Early Career Forum.
The Early Career Network
Our Early Career Network supports professionals at the start of their careers in offshore renewable energy by promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange across the sector. By strengthening connections across the research community, and between industry and academia, we aim to drive the development of this rapidly evolving sector and accelerate towards Net Zero. The Early Career Committee - four individuals from academia and industry - work to devise the best activities for the Early Career network, to support skills and career development, as well as creating a supportive community with ample opportunity for knowledge exchange. The representatives will be in post for 12 months and then the next call for representatives will open.

Each year, our Early Career Forum offers the chance to connect the Early Career community in person, to take part in professional development sessions, and engage in industry-research panel discussions. The following day - the Annual Assembly - is open to the wider community, and features a full day of talks exploring cutting-edge research from across the offshore renewable energy sector.
