Creating a Strategic Research Agenda for ORE - Supergen ORE Hub Workshop at PRIMaRE 2025
As part of the PRIMaRE 2025 conference programme, we are hosting a strategic workshop focused on identifying the research priorities that will accelerate the role of offshore renewable energy in the transition to Net Zero. The results of the workshop will inform the Supergen ORE Hub Strategic Research Planning, as part of a wider range of research activities held in the past few months.
Workshop aims:
- Discuss key offshore renewable energy research priorities (specifically within Wave and Tidal energy)
- Analyse existing research gaps
- Explore actionable pathways
- Identify opportunities to leverage funding
Recognising that business as usual is insufficient in the race to Net Zero, we will examine the policy and industry frameworks needed to unlock faster progress. To form a robust strategy, we’d therefore like to gain perspectives from a range of voices from across the sector, including delegates attending PRiMARE.
The workshop is part of a series of discussions and builds upon the calls to action within our ORE Outlook 2040 report, as well as discussions from subject specific workshops earlier this year regarding Wave Energy and the Industrial Growth Plan.
The annual PRIMaRE conference provides a forum for exchanging the latest research and fostering collaborations in marine renewable energy. This year it is being hosted by the University of Bristol’s CADE school of Engineering on 2 - 3 July 2025 with the Supergen ORE Hub workshop taking place on Day 2.
Workshop details:
Thursday 3 July, 2.00pm – 5.00pm
University of Bristol, CADE School of Engineering
To join the conversation and shape the direction of offshore renewable energy research, please register for the PRIMaRE Conference and join our workshop on day 2.
