Our Early Career Network supports professionals at the start of their careers in the field of offshore renewable energy. By building an interconnected community, we aim to support the development of this rapidly evolving sector through knowledge exchange between peers and senior experts, as well as facilitating collaboration between research and industry.

Online Early Career Autumn Forum

Friday 3 October

We were delighted to welcome over 35 early career professionals from the across the offshore renewable energy sector, covering academia, industry, and policy. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, exchange insights from innovative projects, and explore the direction and challenges currently shaping the field.

Everyone had the chance to introduce themselves and their work. With a strong emphasis on finding relevant connections to support collaboration and knowledge exchange, we facilitated opportunities for everyone to engage in interest-specific breakout rooms. Conversations were guided by key topics such as 'what does industry need that academia is not addressing?'

A special thank you to our three guest speakers, who shared valuable perspectives from the wind, wave, and tidal energy sectors. Their insights into company strategies and emerging developments were a highlight of the event.

The participants also benefitted from a 2-hour People and Projects Training Workshop providing valuable skill strengthening with broad application across roles and disciplines.
