This research project aims to develop a novel hybrid aero-hydro-servo-elastic-mooring numerical model for assessing the performance of floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) in complex marine environments. In collaboration with Dr Edward Ransley at the University of Plymouth (UoP), our objective is to integrate a highfidelity CFD overset mesh model for fully nonlinear hydrodynamics with a mid-fidelity engineering tool FAST for aero-servo-elastic-mooring analysis. The proposed activities will enable us to provide an efficient, accurate, and robust engineering tool for academic research and industrial design in the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) sector.
