The European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference is now in its 15th year and presents a robust understanding of marine energy technologies for the benefit of society. This year the conference was held in Bilbao, Spain and the Supergen ORE Hub attended as a sponsor with a presence in the Networking and Sponsors area where we enjoyed meeting with people from all over the world interested in the progress of ocean energy research.
The Supergen ORE Hub offered participants a chance to learn about the findings of the Tidal Turbine Benchmarking project in an afternoon seminar on the penultimate day of the conference. Professor Richard Willden - Professor of Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and Supergen ORE Hub Co-Director - along with the project's Co-Author Dr Xiaosheng Chen - Postdoctoral Research Assistant from the University of Oxford - presented to a full room with standing room only, summarising the benchmarking study and opening a discussion around impact and next steps.
